New Year Resolution

I think my biggest plan for the New Year is to stay true to myself. My goal is to stop caring about what other people think and live my life for me and my future family. Me being such a people person, I've always lived my life in the eyes of others, but I'm now realizing that's not okay. Everything I've done in 2014 I did it thinking of other people and what they would think, when in the end, they really had nothing to do with any decision I've made. Everyone will always have an opinion about what you're doing and how you're doing it, but who exactly are you doing it for? Do they really even matter?

This year make it a goal to ask yourself: "What am I doing?; Why am I doing it?; and "Who am I doing it for?" After you answer those questions you'll see your future (near or far), in a different perspective. Ignore all excess opinions and just be yourself. Do what you want, when you want (as long as you feel as though it's good for you)!

Bottom line, I'm 22 years old. I will make mistakes, I'm not perfect and never will be. But I feel as if I keep striving for perfection, there will never be an unproductive day in 2015.

In the end, I closed 2014 making my own decisions. I decided upon a grad school that I chose for me and my career rather than other people's approval. I plan to continue 2015 in the same way!

Happy New Year!
