So today marks the beginning of a new challenge I am going to attempt to conquer: the "No Sweet Challenge."
To make a long story short, diabetes runs rapidly through my family tree and it's my goal to stop it with me. Upon making decent eating choices and exercising daily, I am also going to completely knock out sweets from my already pasta-filled diet. Sweets meaning no excess sugar in anything from drinks to dessert. Biologically, the only thing saving me from already having diabetes is all of the water I drink. I do not drink anything but water and milk.
Recently getting tested for diabetes, I was told that everything is above normal; however, I should "be careful" because I can become pre-diabetic in result of family genetics or my weight. So the doctor wants me to "be careful" I will and I will have all of you as witnesses.
I am going to try the "No Sweet Challenge" for one month starting today. I will keep track of any physical activity, weight gain or loss, how I am feeling each day, and any cheat days I feel as if I deserve. After one month, I will create a follow up post summarizing my past month and sharing with you the difficulties and any tricks I used to make temptation no longer a factor.
I like challenges and this is yet another one I hope to learn from and share with you all. From this challenge I hope to gain personal control over not only making proper eating choices, but making any other tempting decisions that may arise in everyday life. After one month of no sweets, I'm sure I will gain enough self control to barely want any in the future. So after this one month, I will decide whether or not to continue strictly another month or decide to partake in a small dessert only once a week from that day forward.
